With an increasing number of businesses looking to tighten their belts and streamline their operational processes, the issue of the latest Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) offers the benefits of improved efficiency and enhanced performance, says enterprise software specialist K3 AX.

William Ball, Product Director at K3 AX, said SP1 would offer reassurance of AX 2009's maturity while removing customer anxiety over adopting 'new' software. Dynamics AX 2009 provides 100 new features that make it easier to access business critical information and, with the look and feel of Microsoft Office 2007, is very intuitive. Its unique 'Role Centre' can also be configured to suit particular business functions, allowing different roles within an organisation to instantly receive the information they need to perform their jobs more efficiently. This will cut wasted activity and enable staff to make better and more productive use of their time.

SP1 also includes support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008. With the availability of these new developments, K3 AX says that now is the time for companies who need to replace or upgrade their ERP systems for the latest technology to take a serious look at Dynamics AX 2009.

Mr Ball said: "New Dynamics AX users are amazed at how the software streamlines their workload and the Role Centre is key to this. For example, stock controllers can set up their Role Centre to receive information about stock levels, without searching lengthy inventory lists. Those stock items that are at a critical level will be identified immediately. Financial controllers can also easily configure the system so that they can concentrate on late payers without having to review all the customer records. This will identify bad debtors and help improve cashflow due to late payment."

Other notable features identified by K3 AX include Expense Management for remote posting and approval of expenses, Requisition and Workflow for assembling a series of tasks. Requisition and Workflow can also work together to streamline requests and approvals.
